I feel it is important to clarify any misconceptions as it has come to my attention that the phrase is often mistaken with a certain 4 letter word! stoneykun, is a Japanese nickname I picked up whilst studying the language at High School. Let me point out, I am not actually Japanese, but am very much fascinated by their lifestyle and culture. stoneykun when broken down, is my surname, Stone, combined with the suffix used to address a man, kun. su-to-nii-kun!

About me

Well as you already know, my name is Adam Russell Stone, to further enlighten you on all things me, I am 24 years old, live in Sydney, Australia and am proud to call myself a Designer! Some have labelled me inquisitive and others creative, but I like to think I am the love child of both these desirable qualities! It is these characteristics that are imbued in and define my design process that I feel make me a truly versatile designer. My versatility is further enhanced by my love of wearing multiple hats when approaching a project - Art Director, Programmer, Designer, Copywriter, Marketer, etc. I am fascinated by all disciplines and facets of design!

Now, you might be wondering where I developed this obsession with Design? It all started during my final year at High School, back in 2003. The memories are so vivid - Websites were being built using table-based layouts; Flash and Dreamweaver was published by Macromedia; AJAX was kept under the kitchen sink; and Britney Spears was a positive role model for young girls. Yes, it was a crazy world! A friend of mine had just returned from Malaysia and handed me a copy of Photoshop 7. Being an extremely pragmatic person, pen on paper never felt the same after Layers, Filters and the all mighty History palette were introduced to me! I would spend days locked in my bedroom trying to emulate record and magazine covers. Subsequently, I decided Digital Media was the right career path for me and went on to study Design Computing the following year at The University of Sydney. I have never looked back!

About the site

This website was designed in Photoshop with the addition of a few stock images and icons provided by stock.xchng and Komodo Media respectively. Hand-coded in Dreamweaver, I have used PHP and XML to develop a simple CMS and JQuery for all DOM manipulations. To attain optimal viewing pleasure, I recommend you use a diplsay that supports 1240 x1024 or larger. Finally, if you are using Internet Explorer 6, I hate to think what you are seeing right now! Honestly, it is time to upgrade!
